PUBLIC NOTICE As part of the federal requirement pursuant to Rail Safety Improvement Act (RSIA) of 2008 and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), CP wishes to inform the general public of CP’s intentions to install a 60-foot Radio Communication Tower with associated bungalow within the CP’s right-of-way at 2410 Grant St. in the City of Clinton within Clinton County, IA. The Tower will be installed in disturbed land along the railroad right-of-way and will include antennas for Positive Train Control (PTC) applications along with other railroad communication requirements. If members of the public would like to submit comments regarding potential adverse effects to historic properties as a result of the tower installation, they may do so by contacting CP’s Community Connect Line (Tel: 1-800-766-7912; community_connect@cpr.ca). Any other questions or comments regarding CP implementation of Radio Communication Towers or Positive Train Control or ongoing railroad operations can be directed to: Media Andy Cummings Tel: (612)851-5616 Media Line: 1-855-242-3674 E-Mail: andy_cummings@cpr.ca General Public Community Connect Line Tel: 1-800-766-7912 E-Mail: community_connect@cpr.ca Published: September 9, 2015. --- CITY OF CLINTON NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed bids are requested by the undersigned City Clerk of the City of Clinton, Iowa, to be submitted in the office of the said City Clerk on or before 2:00 p.m. on the 29th day of September, 2015, for the following: “ 13th Avenue North & North 14th Street, Signalization Project D-2016” The contract documents, including plans and specifications, are on file in the office of the City Clerk for examination. Bidders may obtain plans and specifications from the office of the City Engineering Department. No deposit is required for said plans and specifications. Additional sets may be obtained at a non-refundable $50.00 per set. The above work shall be commenced as soon as the contract and bond have been approved by the City Attorney and have been signed by the Mayor and City Clerk. The project shall be substantially completed (all major contract items) by April 1, 2016. Final completion (seeding and punch list items completed) of the entire project shall be on or before May 15, 2016. Bids are to be on a Bid form furnished by the City and must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the name of the bidder endorsed on the outside, and state that it contains a bid on î and must be accompanied, in a separate envelope, by a bid bond on a form provided by the City, or a cashiers or a certified check, drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, payable to the ìCity Clerk of the City of Clinton, Iowaî, in the amount of five (5) percent of the bid as security that the bidder whose proposal is accepted will enter into a contract for the above, and will provide the required bonds, with sureties to be approved by the City Council, which respective sum will be retained by the said City as agreed liquidated damages in case the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within ten (10) days after award of the contract and post bond satisfactory to the City insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and maintenance. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after thereafter. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bonds to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council, and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract, and the terms and conditions therein contained and the maintenance of said improvements in good repair, for a period of Two (2) years from the time of acceptance of the improvements by the City. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, and to waive informalities. Bids will be acted upon by the City Council at 7:00 p.m. on the 13th day of October, 2015, or such time thereafter to which the City Council may adjourn.
