NOTICE OF HEARING
FAIRVIEW INDEPENDENT BOARD OF EDUCATION
The
Fairview Independent Board of Education
will hold a public hearing in the Fairview High School Media Center at 2123 Main Street, Ashland, Kentucky 41102 on August 27, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. to hear public comments regarding a proposed General Fund tax levy of 79.1 cents on real property and personal property for the 2018-2019 school year.
The General Fund tax levied in fiscal year 2018 was 72.1 cents for real and personal property and produced revenue of $1,026,294 at a collection rate of 95.1%. The proposed General Fund tax rate of 79.1 cents is expected to produce $1,129,689 at the same collection rate. Of this amount, $250,904 is from new and personal property. The compensating tax rate for fiscal year 2019 is 75.6 cents for real and personal property, and is expected to produce $1,079,703.
The general areas to which revenue of $103,395 above 2018 revenue is to be allocated as follows: cost of collections, $3,102; and debt service, $100,293.
