Confidence in God
Part 1 of 2
As we go through life, it is good to have someone in whom we can trust and have confidence in. It could be a spouse or a close friend, but we do need someone who we know will always be there whenever we need them, and our greatest friend is the Lord.
The wise man Solomon, in Proverbs 3:25-26, said, “Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence.” From time to time, we all exp erie nce circumstances which give us great concern. When we are a son/daughter of God, we have this confidence we have someone close by whom we can turn to, who will speak silently to us, “do not fear, I will be with you.” For Jesus said through Paul, in Hebrews 13:5, “…I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Listen to those words “I will never…” You can feel the confidence those words give. And by being a child of God, and living unselfishly for Him, we can claim those words.
God reserves this assurance to His children. That is why we should desire to serve the Lord. Next time we will take this a little further, examining the examples of our forefathers in the Bible.
