Eligibility Examination For Position of Police Officer for the Borough of Montoursville The Borough of Montoursville will be hiring an additional full time police officer. The purpose of the examination is to develop an eligibility list for filling this position. Veterans will be given preference according to the law. Applications will be accepted at the borough office in person or by certified mail until 12:00 (noon), Monday, February 1, 2016. The application and job description may be secured at the Borough Office, 617 North Loyalsock Avenue, Montoursville, PA 17754. A non-refundable administrative fee in the amount of $35.00 made payable to the Borough of Montoursville must accompany each submitted application. Successful applicants will be notified of the date and location of the written Civil Service Examination. Applicants passing the written examination must then complete other mandatory components consisting of oral examination, psychological and polygraph, physical fitness/agility test, background and medical examinations. Applicants must be 21 years on or before Monday, February 1, 2016, be of good moral character, in good physical condition and possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license. Additionally, applicant must be a citizen of the United States, high school graduate or equivalent, and possess a current certification per MPOETC and be compliant with the Training 120 Act.
