Pursuant to the Pennsylvania Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act, the act of May 19, 1995, P.L. 4, No. 1995?2, notice is hereby given that CPV Fairview, LLC (CPV), is submitting February 3, 2016, to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, a Notice of Intent to Remediate a site located at property located off Route 271 (William Penn Avenue) and Polaris Drive, in Jackson Township, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. This Notice of Intent to Remediate states that the site is currently used as an antique store and salvage yard. Both portions of the site store and sell antiques, salvaged building materials (wood, brick, stone, cabinets, porcelain goods, other salvaged materials), as well as a number of types of containers containing or that have previously contained waste oil and various nonhazardous chemicals. Remediation will include demolishing all buildings, structures and removal of concrete slabs; properly remove, recycle (as appropriate), and dispose of building material, concrete, miscellaneous equipment, containers, and fluids. Surficial soils that have been stained by petroleum leaks or spills (motor oil, gear oil, automotive lubricants, etc.) will be excavated and removed; confirmation samples of all remediated stained?soil areas will be obtained and compared to PADEP Statewide Health Standards to confirm conformance with those standards. The excavation areas will be graded using adjacent clean soil sites. Upon completion of site remediation, CPV Fairview, LLC will submit a final report to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Southwest Regional Office, to demonstrate attainment of the Statewide Health Standard established under the Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act by having completed the remediation measures. The site will then be redeveloped for use as a natural gas?fired combined?cycle power generation facility.
