It is the policy of Cooke County Special Education SSA to destroy special education eligibility files that have been inactive for five (6) years. If you, or your child, moved out of our co-op and did not return, graduated or was dismissed from special education services during the 2008-2009 school year, your eligibility file is scheduled to be destroyed. Anything prior to the 2008-2009 year has already been destroyed as scheduled. It is your right to inspect these records and/or obtain copies of documents in them. If you wish to do so, please call (940)665-0773 to make an appointment. The records will then be available at the Cooke County Special Education SSA office located at 900 N. Grand Ave, Suite 102, in Gainesville. Appointments may be scheduled Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. If you have not reviewed or requested copes of these records by July 24, 2015, the assumption will be made that you do not wish to do so and the records will be destroyed as scheduled. If you have any questions regarding this notice, please call 940-665-0773.
