8/5/15 Hoopeston Public Library Roof Repair and Replacement, 110 North Fourth Street Hoopeston, Illinois 60942 until 2:00 PM, Thursday August 27, 2015 in the Hoopeston Public Library, 110 North Fourth Street, Hoopeston, Illinois 60942, (217) 283-6711 and then at said library, publicly opened and read aloud. Bids must be provided in a sealed envelope, clearly marked "CONSTRUCTION BID" and addressed attention: TRICIA FREELAND, DIRECTOR. Bids not so marked may be rejected, if opened, inadvertently as a result. The scope of work for this project is to include the entire work necessary to complete repairs, construction and roofing replacement of the original historic Hoopeston Public Library as described in the construction documents. The roofs of the newer additions will not be included for replacement except as noted. The work shall include demolition, removal and disposal of all existing layers of roofing materials, removal of certain fascia, trims and a roof edge balustrade, construction of a new overlay cricket roof, reconstruction of roof eaves, installation of roofing materials including EPDM and asphalt shake shingles, wood and/or metal work installations of fascia, soffits, gutters and balustrade, and interior ceiling repairs including gypsum board, paint and trim. The work shall include all construction labor and materials, protective measures such as fencing and tarping, and clean-up as required to complete the project. The Contract Documents may be examined at the office of the Architect or at the Hoopeston Public Library during normal hours of operation. Plans, specifications and bid documents may be obtained from The Copy Shop, 302 E. Washington Street, Bloomington, Illinois (309-827-5466) or at Dean's Superior Blueprint, 404 E. University Avenue, Champaign, Illinois (217) 359-3261 after 9:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2015. All copies of plans, specifications and bid documents will be provided at the bidder's own expense. If multiple sets will be required, please telephone ahead so that the appropriate quantity may be prepared. Electronic (PDF) sets of plans, specifications and bid documents may be requested at no cost, by contacting the office of the Architect. All prospective bidders will be required to provide their complete street address, email address, telephone and fax numbers. The work of this project is tax exempt and must meet the prevailing wage requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, and other Federal, State and Local prevailing wage requirements. The successful bidder will be required to provide a Performance and Payment Bond in the amount equal to 100% of the contract price upon successful negotiation and execution of a contract for construction. A pre-bid, review and question/answer session will be conducted at the site on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the site; 110 North Fourth Street, Hoopeston, Illinois. This pre-bid meeting is mandatory for all prime contract bidders. The meeting is optional for sub-contract bidders.
