CITY OF CLINTON ORDINANCE NO. 2520 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLINTON, IOWA, BY AMENDING CHAPTER 91, ANIMAL PROTECTION, PERTAINING TO THE LICENSE FEE ,BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLINTON, IOWA: Section 1. Purpose. The purpose of this Ordinance is to amend Chapter 91 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clinton, Iowa, to eliminate the penalty for failing to license an animal within the time period specified and to adjust the registration fee for all animals regardless of sex or altered status. Section 2. Section Modified. Chapter 91, Animal Protection, is hereby modified as follows: 91.058 License Fee The Clinton City Clerk or Clinton Humane shall maintain a record of the identifying numbers of all city license tags issued and shall make this record available to the public. License Type Fee Dog, cat, or ferret (male, female, altered, unaltered) $10 Dangerous dog, cat or ferret $50 Assistance Animals No Fee Government/Police Service Animals No Fee Section 3. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication as provided by law. Mark S.
